Advanced Dental Residency Education and Community Health (ADREACH) is an innovative dual certificate program offered by Lutheran Medical Center and the University of Michigan. Graduates will earn an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificate from Lutheran Medical Center, New York City, and a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

AEGD Program 1 year with optional 2nd year
Lutheran Medical Center pioneered the concept that Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Programs (AEGD) can occur in community health centers. Today, there are sixty AEGD resident positions available through the Lutheran Family Health Centers in Brooklyn, and in affiliated regional sites in New York City, the greater New York metropolitan area, upstate New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Maryland, Tennessee, Mississippi, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska, and Hawai`i. Each region has a main site and a cluster of affiliated sites. For example, the Medical Center is the main site for other sites and facilities in the New York metropolitan area. Dental Anesthesiology
In 2007 the American Dental Association acted to standardize and credential the education of Dentists in Dental Anesthesiology. With a rich history of supplying care for Dental Patients under General Anesthesia and Sedation, Lutheran Medical Center established its Advanced Education Program in Dental Anesthesiology undergoing a site visit for approval with the Commission of Dental Accreditation in April 2008. more...

GPR Program 1 year with optional 2nd year
Lutheran Medical Center, a Level 1-trauma center, offers a traditional but innovative hospital-based General Practice Residency (GPR), which focuses on comprehensive, continuous care. The residency, accredited for one year with an optional second year, occurs primarily in the Medical Center and the adjacent Sunset Park Family Health Center. Residents acquire the abilities to manage patients with complicated needs in a hospital and group practice environment. more...
Pediatric Dentistry
The Advanced Specialty Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry occurs at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, St. Joseph Hospital Pediatric Dental Center in Providence, Rhode Island, or the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The curriculum of this specialty program revolves around both the well child and children who are medically compromised, developmentally disabled, or victims of trauma. The curriculum emphasizes pediatric medicine and dentistry, the behavioral and pharmacological management of children, oral biology for the pediatric dentist, and general anesthesia.
